Ganye Chiefdom in the southern part of Adamawa State was agog over the weekend, as six illustrious sons and daughters were conferred with traditional titles by the paramount ruler, Gangwari Ganye, His Royal Majesty, Umaru Adamu Sanda.
Present at the ceremony, held at the Gangwari Ganye Palace in Ganye Local Government Area, is Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and the Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
First to be turbaned is the Chief of Staff, to the Adamawa State Government House, Maxwell Gidado, as Danmasanin Ganye 11
His Royal Majesty, the Gangwari Ganye, Adamu Sanda, said the selection of the new traditional title holders is to show appreciation for their contributions to the development of Ganye Chiefdom, and Adamawa state.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on his part described the event as a celebration of excellence.
Dignitaries at the ceremony said, an event like this, unites the people, irrespective of their political differences or religious beliefs.
Others turbaned included the Adamawa State Commissioner for Works and Energy, Adamu Atiku, as the Sardaunan Ganye 11.
Also honoured are Abdulmumini Mapind as Durbin Ganye, Aliyu Abubakar Jakadan Ganye, Lilian Nabe as Mi Woba Ganye, and Rasheeda Almustapha, as the Jakadiyar Ganye.
