Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has called for the prosecution of the former Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, for Adamawa State, Hudu Yunusa Ari, for attempting to set the state ablaze, after what he termed, the “false declaration of Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani, as the winner of the March 2023 Governorship election.
The governor who said this during a state broadcast, announced that although the Supreme Court has affirmed him as the duly elected governor of the state, there is need to bring the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner and his cohorts to book, for their grievous electoral offences.

During the broadcast, the governor commended the people of the state for remaining resolute until the judgment of the Supreme Court, which affirmed their mandate.
On the series of electoral controversies caused by the actions of the former REC, Fintiri calls for the speedy prosecution of the former Resident Electoral Commissioner and his cohorts to serve as deterrent to those who want to destroy the country’s hard-earned democracy with falsehood.
The Supreme Court’s judgement has now laid to rest all judicial controversies, giving the governor the needed clearance to face governance.
