Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has pledged up to 300 hectares of land for the establishment of the newly approved Nigeria Army 10 Division.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across Adamawa, Taraba, and the North-East.
The governor made the pledge while receiving a delegation from the Nigerian Army Headquarters on a courtesy visit to Government House, Yola.
The delegation, led by Major General Bassy Ime, was in Adamawa on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff to assess suitable locations for the deployment of troops and the establishment of military formations under the newly approved 10 Division.
Governor Fintiri described the creation of the division as a strategic intervention by the Federal Government to improve security, particularly in Adamawa and Taraba States, noting that Adamawa’s international border with Cameroon makes a stronger military presence essential to tackle cross-border crimes and other security threats.
The Governor assured the Army that the state government would provide between one hundred and three hundred hectares of land and complete all legal documentation, including the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy, within two weeks to ensure the immediate take-off of the project.

Earlier, leader of the delegation, Major General Bassy Ime, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the establishment of the 10 Division to strengthen military operations in Adamawa and Taraba States.
He explained that the assessment team would inspect proposed sites in Yola, Ganye, Gombi, Mubi, and Madagali Local Government Areas to determine suitable locations for military formations.
The visit underscores the growing partnership between the Adamawa State Government and the Nigerian Army in strengthening the region’s security architecture and enhancing the protection of lives and property across the North-East.
