Nigeria’s oldest domestic airline Contractors says it will temporarily suspend its scheduled passenger services operations with effect from Wednesday July 20, 2022.
The management of Aero Contractors in a statement announcing the suspension say the past few months have been very challenging for the aviation industry and the airline operations In particular.
According to the management the decision was carefully considered and taken due to the fact that most of their aircraft are currently undergoing maintenance, resulting In their inability to offer seamless and efficient service to their customers.
They however disclosed that they are working to bring those aircraft back to service In the next few weeks so as to continue to offer safe efficient and reliable service to their customers.
The Airline apologise to their passengers for this inconvenience but added that they are working assiduously to return to service as quickly as possible
The Airline further disclosed that the temporary suspension of scheduled flight operations does not in any way affect the Maintenance activities of the Approved Maintenance Organisation, AMO, as well as the Approved Training organisation, and Helicopter and charter service operations
This move by Aero Contractors Airline is a clear indication that some domestic airlines in the country are struggling to survive in the face of numerous challenges they are faced with which include the persistent scarcity of aviation fuel and other operational hiccups.
