Gunmen have in less than Forty-eight hours struck again at the Police station in Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria, this time killing three operatives attached to the Oshiri Police Division in Onicha Local Government Area.
The Police however returned fire and killed two of the six suspected gunmen, while four reportedly fled the scene of the attack.
Wednesday’s attack is coming on the heels of a similar incident on Monday night at a Police checkpoint, just a few poles away from the State Police Command headquarters in Abakaliki in which a Police Inspector was killed.

The Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, CP Faleye Olayeye told Journalists at the parade of two dead bodies suspected to be those of the gunmen, that operatives equally recovered arms and weapons from.
The Police Command describes the latest violent attacks on Police personnel in the State by gunmen as unfortunate.
The CP however urged residents not to entertain any fears, but to go about their normal businesses as the Police and other security agencies remain committed to their protection.
