The president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has named the senator representing Ebonyi North as the new Senate deputy whip.
Akpabio made the announcement during Wednesday plenary
Onyekachi Nwebonyi who is also the vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts, is to replace
Lola Ashiru, former Deputy Whip (Kwara South, APC).

The reshuffle is to fill the position created as a result of the exit of Senator Dave Umahi from the upper chamber following his appointment as Minister of Works
