The controversy that has continued to trail the hike in tuition fees of students of the University of medical sciences, Ondo state from seven hundred thousand to about two point five million naira is yet to settle.
This is just as a meeting between the University community, parents and management fail to reach a common ground on a new tuition fee acceptable to all interested parties.
New students under the new fee regime would pay as high as two point five million naira as tuition as against seven hundred thousand naira, while returning students would have their fees reviewed upward by fifteen percent .
Now a stakeholders meeting which include parents, students representatives, school management and friends of the institution are looking into the matter with a view to finding an amicable solution to the problem.

Parents and other stakeholders are however pushing for increased subvention to the institution by government to reduce the financial burden on the institution and also to prevent mass drop out of students from school.
The university management, is of the view that given the current situation , Sustaining the university for it to remain a competitive brand can not be compromised.
The school said funding of University should be a collective effort of all Stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the institution remain shut due to student Agitations owning to the hike in tuition.
