In Akwa Ibom State enforcement teams are to apprehend anyone flouting the directives on the measures to curtail the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Secretary to the State Government, Emmanuel Ekuwem, who made this known when he was addressing the media in Uyo, the state capital, also announced that the state has received its allocation of the Modena Anti-Covid-19 vaccines.

The numbers keep escalating with the third wave of Covid-19 infections in Akwa State.
The state government laments that the major cause is as a result of the nonchalant attitude of the people towards observing the NCDC protocols.
Consequently, the state government and the Chairman of the state’s Covid-19 committee, Emmanuel Ekuwem said the government will begin a clampdown on defaulters.
Ekuwem advised the people of the state to take advantage of the next rollout of the vaccine in the state.
Since the beginning of the third wave of Covid-19 infections, Akwa Ibom has recorded the second-highest infection rate in the country.
