Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno

Twenty seven thousand indigenes of Akwa Ibom State have received more than two billion naira as conditional cash transfer.

This was made known at the flag off of the National Social Investment Programme by Governor Umo Eno in Uyo, the state capital.

Governor Eno, represented by the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Helen Obareki stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu clearly aligned with the welfare component of the governor’s ARISE agenda.

Eno pointed out that his administration had upscaled the reach from 9 LGAs to 31 and that 27,000 beneficiaries would receive a total disbursement of over two billion naira.

State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Emem Ibanga urged the beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously.

Ibanga called for more collaboration from corporate bodies, multinationals and philanthropists as social protection should not be left to government alone.
