The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has rescued three abducted children and arrested two suspected child traffickers in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area.
The rescue followed a distress call received by police operatives on June 3, reporting the abduction of three children along Ekparakwa Village in Mkpat Enin.
Acting swiftly on the information, detectives launched a coordinated operation and sealed strategic routes within the area to prevent the suspects from escaping.
During the operation, officers intercepted a mini bus and discovered the three missing children inside the vehicle. The children were rescued unharmed, while two suspects were arrested at the scene.

The rescued children have since been reunited with their families, while the suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, commended the vigilance of residents and the prompt action of operatives, assuring that efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the suspected trafficking network.
The Police Command also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information to security agencies.
