The Akwa Ibom State Government has accused the Nigeria Centre of Disease Control, NCDC of breaching protocol in the handling of Coronavirus cases in the State.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dominic Ukpong who made the accusation while addressing the media on the first set of positive cases in the State said the 5 reported cases have so far shown no symptoms of the disease and would be retested for final confirmation.
Akwa Ibom State has been rocked by news of 5 Coronavirus cases with the Health Commissioner explaining that the history of the patients in the State was traceable to a team from the United States who came for medical outreach.
He added that the State Government had acquired a facility and equipment for a laboratory to test such cases.
Ukpong said over a thousand people participated in the outreach and are being traced.
