A Non-governmental organisation, NUDE Nigeria has raised an alarm over what it described as the intimidation of journalists and rights activists by the Police in Akwa Ibom State.

Convener of the organisation, Mikky Attah said this in Abuja in a chat with the media in Uyo, the state capital Attah’s comments follow the recent ordeal of human rights activist and lawyer, Inibehe Effiong which she said was condemnable.

She also expressed concern over recent alleged cases of intimidation of the media by the Police in the state and wondered why cases of infringement of the are not handled with regard for due process.
