In a separate development, Governor Alia approved 23 appointments to fill vacancies created by the resignation of previous appointees.
The appointments cut across strategic government positions, including Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Personal Assistants, Government Liaison Officers and heads of government institutions.
Among those appointed are Jonathan Iyoo Igbondo as Special Adviser on Unions and Labour Relations; Dickson Ocheokwoi Benjamin Ohaa as Special Adviser on Works, Housing and Urban Development; and Iko Benjamin as Special Adviser on International Investment.
Others include Akaavah Augustine Liam as Director General of Social Investment; Abutu Tolbert Terdue as Director of Research at the Benue Public Service Institute; and Apenda Isaac Tersoo as Executive Secretary of the Benue State Scholarship Board.
Also appointed are Andy Terfa Agbavanger as Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission and Patience Erube as Personal Special Assistant on Protocol in the Office of the Deputy Governor.
Congratulating the appointees, Governor Alia charged them to familiarise themselves with the vision of his administration and align their responsibilities with its guiding principles.
He emphasised the need to place the collective interest of Benue State above personal considerations in the discharge of their official duties.
The Governor explained that the appointments were necessary to sustain an effective government structure and prevent vacancies from disrupting the delivery of public services.
The appointments are aimed at strengthening primary healthcare administration, enhancing governance and ensuring continuity in public service delivery.
The appointments, according to the Government House Press Release signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, take immediate effect and are expected to strengthen institutional coordination and service delivery across the state.
