The Executive Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Council in Kaduna State, Rabo Nasara and the Speaker of the Council, Halilu Makama, have been impeached from office by the legislative arm of the council, over alleged corruption and abuse of office.
The impeachment was sequel to the resolution of the Kagarko Local Government Legislative Council.
The embattled Executive Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Council, Rabo Nasara, was earlier suspended on July 5, for alleged corruption, and was asked by the council to refund 86 million Naira and other property belonging to the local government council.
Likewise, Halilu Makama was also kicked out of office by the legislative council for abuse of power vested in him as speaker of the council.
The resolution of the council to impeach both Rabo Nasara and Halilu Makama was signed by eight counsellors representing different wards in the local government area of the state.

The council explained that the embattled chairman had never provided any financial report as well as other monthly reports on the state of affairs of the local government as required by law.
The Kagarko Legislative Council resolved and appointed Mustapha Gidado as Chairman of the Council, as well as Danjuma Padalo as the new Speaker.
The council said that its action complied with Order 1, Sections 11 and 15, of the Kaduna State of Nigeria Rules of the 23 Local Government Legislative Council 2018 extant law.
