No fewer than eight political parties out of the eighteen vying for the governorship seat in Anambra State have signed up a Peace Accord, ahead of the November 6 polls.
The candidates are of the view that a peaceful and credible poll, holds the key to good governance in the State.
They are challenged each other to abide by the terms of the peace accord.
The contending political parties want the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to be professional and fair to all the candidates in the conduct of the election.

In the words of Nigeria’s former military ruler who Chairs Nigeria’s National Peace Committee, General Abdusalem Abubakar, the signing of the Anambra State Governorship Election Peace Accord is a call to duty for all the candidates to commit themselves to a peaceful process which should not be seen as a mere political exercise.
