Reports from Anambra State, South East Nigeria indicate that despite pre-election days security challenges and apprehension, many of the polling centres recorded high turnout of voters for the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Though voting processes reportedly started late in many parts of the State due to what electoral officials described as logistics problems, the electorate waited patiently to exercise their franchise.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo who cast his vote at about 2:19pm at his Isuofia Polling centre, commended the security agencies for maintaining law and order in the State.

In other Polling areas like Nnewichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area, voting had not commenced as at 12:20pm when ait.live crew visited.
Some Election Observers who monitored the situation in parts of Anambra State were impressed with the efficiency of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS.
Voters at the Polling centres where the exercise began late, appealed to INEC officials to follow the election guidelines and allow everyone already at the polling area before 2:30pm to cast their votes.
