The strike by Resident Doctors might just be compounded with the unease among other categories of health workers over non-payment of seven months Consolidated Health Salary Structure, CONHESS.

President of the medical and health workers Union of Nigeria, Ado Minjibir, while speaking at its National Executive Council meeting, expressed concerns that government’s nonchalant attitude towards welfare of health workers was largely responsible for the high migration abroad.

For his part, a former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress and International Trade Union Confederation, Ayuba Wabba condemned the attack on workers in a democratic setting like Nigeria.
