The All Progressives Congress (APC) has adopted the Direct mode of Primaries for the nomination of its candidates in Benue, Osun and Abia states.
In a letter written to the Independent National Electoral Commission dated 25th May 2022, the party stated that the National Working Committee has taken the decision based on the powers vested on it by the National Executive Committee (NEC).
The letter signed by the National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Adamu says the step is in furtherance to the party’s constitution as amended (2022) and the Electoral Act as amended (2022) which provides the option of Direct Primaries in respect of nomination of candidates.
