Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has met with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, where the party agreed to adopt the Option A4 voting system for its direct primary elections.
The stakeholders’ meeting, which was held at the Government House in Owerri, brought together party leaders, aspirants, and key officials of the APC to deliberate on strategies for the forthcoming primary elections.
Addressing the stakeholders, Governor Uzodimma emphasised the need for fairness and strict adherence to the zoning arrangement within the party, noting that equity and justice remain essential for sustaining peace and harmony among members.
The Governor further stated that the adoption of the Option A4 system would guarantee transparency and allow party members to openly participate in the selection of candidates.
He urged party faithful to remain loyal, united, and committed to the ideals of the APC before, during, and after the primary elections, stressing that the overall interest of the party should be placed above personal ambitions.
