Former Governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose has advised national leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola Tinubu to be mindful of the political pitfalls awaiting him from his party ahead of the presidential primaries.
In an open letter to Tinubu, Fayose likened the situation of the former Lagos State Governor to that of notable Yoruba political leaders like Obafemi Awolowo and MKO Abiola who never attained the peak of their political ambitions.
According to Fayose, the signals coming from those controlling the power within the APC do not favour Tinubu. “Going by the handwritings that are now clearly on the wall, if I may comment sir, I see you as one that may be swimming against the political tide of the cabal in your party. They are equally preparing for your actions and reactions and are fully set to contain same as they did to both Awolowo and Abiola.
