The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its North-Central Zonal Congress in Lafia, Nasarawa State, adopting a consensus arrangement for the emergence of its zonal executives.

The exercise, presided over by Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, alongside Chairman of the Congress Committee, Funsho Olumoko, drew key party stakeholders from across the region.

The congress also highlighted the party’s growing influence in the North-Central, with all six states now under APC control following the recent defection of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang.

Chairman of the Congress Committee, Funsho Olumoko, announced that in line with the directive of the party’s National Working Committee, the congress adopted a consensus arrangement, retaining existing zonal executives to ensure stability and continuity.

In a major political development, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, moved a motion endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

The motion, seconded by Governor Abdullahi Sule on behalf of North-Central governors, was unanimously adopted through a voice vote.

Party leaders described the outcome of the congress as a clear demonstration of unity, consolidation, and confidence in the leadership of the APC.
