The All Progressives Congress, APC and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have filed a case before the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo challenging the outcome of the August 15 governorship election.
The APC case was filed alongside its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, while another one was filed by a faction of the PDP alongside one Adebayo Adedamola
Both cases were filed against the ACCORD; Governor Ademola Adeleke and the lndependent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The petitions were pasted on the notice board of the tribunal secretariat in Osogbo on Monday, formally commencing the legal process arising from the August 15 governorship election.
Oyebamiji listed Adeleke, the Accord and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as respondents in the petition challenging the election outcome.
In the mean time, the petitions are being displayed as a procedural step but parties involved are yet to publish detailed grounds for their petitions but it must be noted that the parties must be served before full hearing begins.
