It was a smooth ride for aspirants seeking to contest for seats in the Enugu State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC as they all emerged unopposed in the party’s primary election held across the state on Wednesday.
The exercise, conducted in the 260 wards in the state, also recorded a large turnout of party faithful with Ifeanyi Nnamani securing the APC ticket for Nkanu West State constituency.
Having concluded its National Assembly primaries days earlier, the APC in Enugu State, South-East Nigeria on Wednesday shifted attention to those hoping to represent their constituencies at the State Assembly.
At most of the centres, party members simply gathered to affirm the aspirants as consensus candidates.
Across the 14 wards that make up the Nkanu West State Constituency, supporters turned out in large numbers and in cheerful mood as Ifeanyi Nnamani formally secured the APC ticket to contest the seat.
