The Opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State is calling on Governor Dauda Lawal, to appoint security aides that will coordinate the fight against banditry rather than visiting different security formations without any work plan, on how to address the situation in the state, where people are being killed daily.

A statement by the Party’s Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, says the APC is still wondering why the governor has not appointed even a Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Security, who will be supervising and coordinating security matters on his behalf, instead of appointing a Special Adviser, SA, on finance and other social issues, thereby neglecting the security of lives and property of the citizens.

The Party says it is deeply concerned about the way the Dauda Lawal-led administration is handling the security challenges in the state.

The killing of innocent citizens has become more rampant, with terrorists wrecking havock daily in the state capital, Gusau.

The Party claimed that on Monday, bandits had the effrontery to move through farms to attack a police station in Bungudu, killing an officer, the way they attacked Kwatar village, killing scores.
