It is barely two weeks to the 2022 National Sports Festival billed to take place in Asaba, the Delta State capital in South-South Nigeria and the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare says there is no going back on the games.
Dare said this in Asaba during inspection of structures and facilities to be used for the Festival with his team at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
He admitted that he had fears during his last visit in April but that the level of work on ground is in line with what is obtainable in other parts of the world and Delta State has taken sports to a higher notch.

The Sports Minister, who promised to be visiting the ongoing construction sites every five days to inspect progress of work said with the 24-hour day and night work by over 500 workers and all the needed materials on ground, Asaba 2022 is a reality.
Dare said with the flood receding, his initial worry has been conquered seeing most of the locations for the festival in Asaba being safe so the issue of postponement is totally ruled out.
