The Heartland Football Club of Owerri has emerged as the winner of the week-long Nigeria National League held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, after defeating the Kano Pillars.
The Heartland Football Club, relegated two seasons ago from the NPFL, bounced back in grand style, after one season in the lower league, emerging victorious in the NNL.
The excited Heartland Coach, Christian Obi, thanked God for the team’s victory, and Governor Hope Uzodimma, for his immense support.

In the individual award category, Heartland FC Goalkeeper Chisom Chiaha won the Golden Gloves of the tournament, while Victor Mbaoma of Katsina United emerged as the highest goal scorer, with four goals.
Francis Erikan was named the man of the month.
