The early morning of Thursday, 8th February 2024 news on the death of the traditional rulers of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Obi Joseph Chike Edozien (CFR) an eminent Professor of Medicine was trending on the Social Media.

But ait.live visit to his palace in Asaba, the Delta State capital proved otherwise as the place was without the presence of mourners that is usually associated with such scenario while one man seen within the vicinity who spoke off camera debunked the news of the death of the Asagba of Asaba. According to him, the Asagba though ill and hospitalised was not dead.

As events unfold, some people were of the opinion that the Asagba was actually dead, but was concealed due to the Asaba tradition that forbids the announcement of the passing of their royal father not until certain traditional rites were performed.
