The National Association Of Nigerian Students, NANS Zone-E has called on the Academic Staff Union Of Universities, ASUU, to honour the judgement delivered by the National Industrial Court, which ordered the suspension of the ongoing strike, to allow students go back to their various higher institutions of learning across the country.
The Zone-E Coordinator, Alhassan Adam, made the call during a press conference, organized at the NUJ Secretariat, Bauchi State, northeast Nigeria.
The lingering strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has entered its seven month, and as the universities remain under lock and key the situation according to the National Association Of Nigerian Students Zone-E poses set back to the development of education in Nigeria.
The union also appealed to the Federal Government to look into the demands of ASUU, to resolve the lingering problem, and to save the country’s education system from total collapse.

While assuring their continued commitment to protecting the interest of Nigerian students, the union leaders say they will continue to engage relevant stakeholders in the education sector, towards providing permanent solutions.
