The statement said, “Now that ASUU has decided to obey the judgement of the National Industrial Court by suspending what it calls ‘the devastating action’, government deems it necessary to apologize to all students and parents, of which the Minister of Labour and employment is one, for this unduly prolonged strike, which is unwarranted ab initio.”

It added that “a groundwork is being laid, of which Government is confident, will save Nigerians, this unpalatable experience of incessant strikes in future.

ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke signed a press release at the end of its National executive Council meeting, announcing the suspension of the industrial action on Friday, October 14 and directed lecturers to resume work immediately.
