The African Democratic Congress, ADC’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his vice Rotimi Amaechi have arrived Sokoto for Wednesday’s campaign kickoff.
The ADC’s team landed the seat of the caliphate after its presidential candidate at a media briefing in Abuja, vowed to proceed with his planned campaign rally in Sokoto State, describing the alleged plot as a politically motivated plan.
The former Vice President alleged that ADC was being deliberately denied access to public facilities and logistical support required for its campaign activities.
Atiku condemned what he described as politicization by security agencies, insisting that their responsibility was to protect citizens and uphold the law rather than engage in activities capable of undermining democratic participation.
In the past one week, the former vice president had issued several statements through his official social media handles where he cited series of political clampdown on opposition parties as campaigns kick off for the 2027 polls.
