The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has defeated his counterpart from the All Progressives Congress APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, Katsina after polling the highest number of votes from 34 Local Government Areas in the state.
Atiku polled 489,045 votes to beat his closest rival, Tinubu who scored 482,283 votes.
The NNPP Presidential Candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso came third with 69,385 votes followed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party with 6,376 votes.

This is even as Tinubu won 21 out of the 34 Local Government Areas while Atiku won 13 but, polled the highest number of votes collated.
The result was announced by the Katsina State Presidential Collation Officer, Prof Ma’azu Abubakar at the state INEC office.
