A loyalist of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Zamfara State, Aslam Aliyu, has asked her supporters to vote for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor Bello Mohammed, in the March 18, Governorship and State Assembly elections.
Aslam Aliyu, who is a Special Adviser and one of those who refused to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, with Governor Bello Mohammed, had recently turned her back on the PDP Governorship candidate, Dauda Lawal-Dare, during the flag-off of the distribution of starter packs to 40,000 trainees on various acquisition skills in the state.

The Special Adviser to Governor Bello Mohammed on Skills acquisition and a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Zamfara State, Aslam Aliyu, who had remained in the PDP with the former Deputy Governor, Mahdi Gusau and others when Governor Bello Mohammed left the party for the All Progressives Congress, APC, has now thrown her weight behind the candidacy of Governor Mohammed, in the forthcoming Governorship and State Assembly elections.
The former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s loyalist during the presidential campaign rally of the PDP candidate had told the people of Zamfara State to vote for the PDP Governorship candidate, Dauda Lawal-Dare.
She has now shifted her support to Governor Bello Mohammed, whom she described as the most credible candidate to lead the state.
Governor Bello Mohammed said he is running a government of unity and believes in bringing on board, people who can add to his administration’s vision of engendering sustainable development and progress of the state, irrespective of political affiliation.
He said, his administration is poised to empower the women and youths to be economically self-reliant, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the state, which informed the training offered to 40, 000 women and youths in the state.
According to him, this explained why his administration is distributing starter packs to each of them at the end of the training.
The 40,000 women and youths who were empowered by the Zamfara State Government, included the most vulnerable ones who have suffered from banditry activities.
