Atiku Raises Alarm Over Private account leakage

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has raised alarm over an unknown person who paid money into one of his private bank accounts, describing it as a possible compromise of his confidential banking information.

The former vice-president revealed this in a statement released by his media aide, Phrank shaibu said the transfer. described as a “Contribution Electioneering Campaign”, was neither solicited nor authorised by him or his campaign.

Atiku explained that the circumstances surrounding the transaction were “deeply troubling” as the private account details are not in the public domain.

The opposition party’s 2027 presidential further disclosed that The transfer originated from a person totally an unknown sender, adding that Neither him nor his campaign solicited, authorised or has any knowledge of the individual or entity behind the unauthorised payment.”

Atiku however questioned how an unknown individual obtained the details of his private bank account.

The former vice-president said if his private banking information can be accessed by unknown persons, the wider implication is that the financial details of ordinary Nigerians are also at risk.
