At least 15 persons have been reportedly killed after a boat conveying 100 passengers capsized in River Benue in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State on Sunday evening.
The passengers on board the ill-fated boat are said to be mostly women and children returning from the fish market in Mayo-Renewo in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State.
As at the time of filing this report, a total of 15 bodies have been recovered through local rescue efforts, while the remaining passengers are yet to be accounted for.

The Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Usman confirmed the Boat mishap incident, saying rescue effort is ongoing.
