The Rivers State Government has announced restriction on night movements into and out of the State from the land borders of the state.
Governor Nyesom Wike who made the announcement in a Statewide broadcast on Tuesday says a nighttime curfew has been imposed and no vehicle is allowed in and out of Rivers State from 8 pm to 6 am from Wednesday, April 28, 2021, until further notice.
The last few days have witnessed a number of deadly attacks on security personnel in Rivers State…
On Saturday, April 24, some officers of the Nigerian Customs, Police, and Civil Defence Corps were ambushed and killed by armed attackers at their duty posts along the Port Harcourt-Owerri expressway.
The next day… Sunday, April 25 also witnessed the gruesome murder of five Soldiers at Omelema in Abua Odual Local Government Area.

Although security agencies are investigating the attacks with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book, the Rivers State Government says its working on measures to forestall further attacks.
Consequently, Governor Nyesom Wike in Statewide broadcast announced the restriction of movement into and out of the State
Governor Nyesom Wike also used the Statewide broadcast to urge the people of the state to be vigilant and report every useful intelligence or suspicious movements to security agencies for immediate action.
