Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has vowed that his administration will not allow the violence, arson and wanton destruction of property that occurred on Monday in some Local Government Council secretariats of the State to be swept under the carpet, insisting that a proper investigation will be conducted.

He said the situation has occurred before, and some of his supporters were framed and declared wanted to cover up the crime committed by others.

Speaking after he presided over the swearing-in of Four new Commissioners into the State cabinet, the Governor said, with the support and commitment of the Police and other security agencies, all those behind the Monday’s violence across the State would be apprehended and brought to book.

Governor Fubara, who about a year ago witnessed a gale of resignations from his cabinet, told the gathering that he’s taking his time to ensure that all those appointed this time are persons who will dedicate themselves to serving the people’s interest.

The Governor then switched attention to other pressing issues as he calls on the people of the State to support the fight against crude oil theft, illegal oil bunkering, pipeline vandalization and other acts of economic sabotage.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara further called on the people to shun all acts of violence and join hands with his administration to build a prosperous Rivers State.
