The Nigerian Safety investigation Bureau, NSIB has announced immediate commencement of investigation into the incident involving Max Air aircraft that crash landed on Sunday at runway of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja after tyre burst.
Spokesperson of the Bureau, Tunji Oketumbi told AIT.live that the staff are gathering information and evidence to produce a report with recommendations on how to avoid recurrence.

Oketumbi noted that the NSIB with the Nigeria Air Safety Management Agency, NAMA and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN will make public the outcome of the findings as soon as the investigation is completed.
The management of Max Air says the aircraft has now been grounded for further repairs and replacement of damaged parts as it awaits the report of the Bureau before taking the next step.
Also speaking to AIT.live, the Chief Executive Officer of United Nigeria Airline, Obiora Okonkwo urged the Federal Government to speed up work on the second runway of the Abuja Airport to avoid shutting down of flight operations when there are air incidents.
A total of 144 passengers on Sunday escaped death when the Max Air aircraft crash-landed on arrival from the Yola Airport in Adamawa State, North-East Nigeria.
