A Boeing 737 aircraft belonging to Max Air was on Tuesday involved in a bird strike incident at the Aminu kano international airport, Kano.
The aircraft was said to have departed kano for Abuja airport at about 1.21pm, but made an air return nine minutes after take off as three engine blades were attacked by birds upon take off.
The incident caused a big bang on the aircraft as passengers became agitated.
The pilot in command however informed the passengers of the incident and the need to return back to base to disembark them

Meanwhile, Director-General of the Nigeria civil aviation authority NCAA Capt Musa Nuhu who confirmed the incident noted that the NCAA had called for a meeting with the management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA to deliberate on how the issue of bird strike could be addressed in the future adding that bird strike can cause great damage to the aircraft.
