President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the death of elder statesman and former Governor of the defunct Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Muhammad Tukur, as a celebration of a life dedicated to service, peace and human development.
The President spoke through Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented him during a condolence visit to the Tukur family in Yola, Adamawa State.

The visit is being undertaken on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following the death of the former Governor of the defunct Gongola State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

At the palace of the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, Vice President Kashim Shettima tells the royal father that Tukur’s death goes beyond Adamawa and the North, describing it as a national loss in view of his immense contributions to national development.
At the Tukur family compound in Yola, the Vice President conveys President Tinubu’s condolences to the family, led by his eldest son and Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Awwal Tukur.
He urges the family to take heart, but most importantly, to consider the passing of their father as a celebration of life.
Responding on behalf of the family, Barrister Awwal Tukur thanks President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for identifying with the family and for standing by them in their trying moment.
