Eight kidnapped persons have been rescued by the Police in Niger State.
They were rescued from a forest in Munya Local Government Area.

The rescued persons, according to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, indicated that they were kidnapped along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
Abiodun added that the victims were rescued on Wednesday evening by Police Operatives, along the Lukuma/Shafe Road.
Abiodun further explained that seven of the rescued victims hail from Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State, while the eight are from Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
On the twenty-first of this month, the victims began their journey from Kankia town in Katsina State to Abuja.
Abiodun assured members of the public, that the Police will arrest and prosecute the fleeing suspects.
