The Police in Katsina says they have repelled a bandits’ attack on some villages in Kurfi, Dutsinma, and Safana Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
In a statement by the Police spokesman, Superintendent of Police Gambo Isah, the incident occurred on August 7 between the hours of 5:pm to 8:pm when the bandits in their numbers, riding on over forty motorcycles, raided villages in Safana, Kurfi, and Dutsinma LGAs of Katsina State.
The statement added that, during the raid, the bandits succeeded in rustling over three hundred animals which included cows, sheep, and goats.
Following the receipt of the distress call, a combined team of Policemen and vigilante groups were mobilized, and blocked the hoodlums at their exit route into the forest, between Dagarawa and Tsaskiya cattle route.

Isah further said, the team engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, and recovered all the rustled animals, leaving many of the bandits who fled with bullet wounds.
The police image maker said that search parties are still combing the area to arrest the fleeing bandits, or to recover their dead bodies and their operational weapons.
