Suspected terrorists have reportedly abducted an unspecified number of Tsangaya students at Gidan Bakuso village in Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State Northwest Nigeria.

A resident of the area, Ismaila Na-Allah told ait.live via telephone that the suspected terrorists who wielded dangerous weapons, stormed the troubled community at about 1 am and abducted the Tsangaya students to an unknown location.

Na-Allah said the Number of students abducted by the suspected terrorists from the area could not be ascertained.

He disclosed that people in the area hardly sleep due to the activities of the terrorists who unleash terror on innocent citizens.

The incident came a few hours before the Sokoto State Inauguration of the Community Protection Corps to deal with the security challenges confronting the State and the Northwest region.

Efforts to get the Sokoto Police Command to confirm the incident were unsuccessful as the Public Relations Officer is not responding to calls or SMS sent to him.
