Police have arrested two kidnap suspects identified as Dauda Mohammed and Umar Ali in Anambra State, South-East Nigeria whom security intelligence link to multiple kidnapping cases.

Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, says a coordinated operation led to the arrest of Dauda Mohammed, aged 38, said to be a member of a notorious kidnapping syndicate in Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria.

Ikenga said investigation linked the suspect to a recent kidnap incident at Divine Heritage Lodge, Ukwulu, in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, where a kidnap victim was held for four days and N15 million ransom made, as against an initial N30 million demanded before the victim regained freedom.

The Police Command spokesman, disclosed that credible lead, also led to the arrest of Umar Ali, popularly known as “Barjini” at Ugwuoba Gariki, in Enugu State, South-East Nigeria.
