At least 40 persons were kidnapped by bandits at Jangali Bagoma Farms in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A resident of the Birnin Gwari community who pleaded anonymity said that the incident happened in the early hours of Monday.

Another resident who also pleaded anonymity said two of his wives and four children were among those kidnapped by the bandits on the same farm.
He said that the bandits in a telephone call asked them to supply foodstuffs before they can begin negotiation for ransom.
The locals said that some of the farmers used to harvest over seven thousand 7,000 bags of maize and rice each year, but that is no more.
The Kaduna State Police Command and the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, however said they are yet to receive reports from the security operatives in the area.
