The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, (KADIRS), has sealed off the premises of the Bank of Agriculture, First City Merchant Bank, FCMB, and Unity Bank, among other business premises for unpaid taxes worth 1.5 billion Naira.
KADIRS Board Secretary Aisha Ahmed, disclosed this to newsmen, during an enforcement exercise in Kaduna, where over 20 business premises were sealed, due to huge established and accumulated land-based revenue liabilities
Ahmed emphasised that the essence of the exercise is to meet the 120 billion Naira annual budget target, set by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
KADIRS appealed to all taxpayers to pay on time to ensure the socioeconomic development of the state, saying that the agency will leave no stone unturned, by entertaining any act of illegality.
Ahmed said that the service has secured a court order for the immediate closure and taking over of the entire properties until all unpaid land-based revenue liabilities are settled.
