Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has sworn in four new commissioners and announced a minor cabinet reshuffle.
He charged members of the State Executive Council to uphold integrity, transparency and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The four newly appointed commissioners took the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance, administered by the State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar.
Addressing the newly sworn-in commissioners, Governor Mohammed said their appointments followed the resignation of some political appointees who stepped down to pursue elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He urged the commissioners to quickly acquaint themselves with government policies and programmes and work closely with permanent secretaries and other civil servants to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
He said the performance of commissioners would be closely monitored, stressing the need for strict adherence to due process, prudent management of public resources and accountability. The governor also cautioned them against any conduct capable of bringing the government into disrepute.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated commissioners, Baraya Ibrahim expressed appreciation to Governor Mohammed for the confidence reposed in them. He assured the Governor of their commitment to supporting the administration’s development agenda through transparency, accountability and efficient service delivery.
