The Social Democratic Party SDP has withdrawn from participating in the forthcoming Bauchi State local government council elections.
The Secretary of the Party Comrade Nasir Dan Bauchi made the party’s position known during a press briefing held at the NUJ Secretariat Complex Bauchi State North East Nigeria.
Addressing journalists the secretary of the Social Democratic Party SDP Bauchi State Chapter Nasir Dan said their party will not take part in the August 17th local council’s elections due to what they described as alleged irregularities by the state electoral umpire in the processes.
The SDP Secretary emphasized that for local councils election to to be fair and credible, the National Electoral Body should take full charge of the exercise.
Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission has announced 17th August for the conduct of local governments council elections across the twenty local government areas of the State
