Bauchi LG Polls: Low Turnout Of Voters Witnessed Across Polling Units

BAUCHI

Bauchi Local government polls have ended in peaceful atmosphere amidst low turnout of voters, accros the 20 local government areas of state.

According to some voters interviewed, the reasons behind low turnout is due to poor publicity, lack of confidence on the side of voters and poor Economy prompting many to abandon the Election for their farms.

As early as 9:00am, a few prospective voters were seen at their voting units waiting for Election materials and staff to arrive

Few minutes to 10 am the Electoral officers arrived as voting commenced in almost 5013 polling unit’s across the state.

At about 3: 00pm voting ended in some polling units as sorting and counting commences sighting some group of women singing songs commending Bauchi governor for providing a level playing ground for all political parties to participate in the election without Intimidation.

As it’s now voting has ended with an expectation of announcing the winners of 323 councillors at various wards collation centres, while 20 Elected local government Chairmen are to be announced at various local governments collation centres level.
