The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission, BASIEC has declared the results of the 2026 Local Government Council elections held across the state.
The results were announced after the completion of voting, counting, collation and verification across the twenty Local Government Areas.
Declaring the results in Bauchi, Chairperson of BASIEC, Hajiya Jummai Abubakar, said the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, won all twenty chairmanship seats contested across the state.
She said the successful candidates secured the highest number of valid votes in their respective constituencies and satisfied the applicable legal requirements.
The commission also declared that the APM won 319 out of the 323 councillorship seats across the state.
The remaining four seats were won by the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Dandango Ward of Bauchi Local Government; the New Nigeria Republican Movement, NRM, in Darazo South Ward; the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, in Wandi Ward of Dass Local Government; and the Young Progressives Party, YPP, in Zirami Ward of Giade Local Government.
Hajiya Jummai Abubakar said the elections were conducted independently and in accordance with the law.
She commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his support to the commission and congratulated the people of Bauchi State and all successful candidates.
