Members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly have given their overwhelming support to the State’s 2022 Budget Appropriation Bill which is before them for consideration.

Throwing their weight behind the bill during a plenary presided over by Speaker, Abraham Ngobere in Yenagoa, the Lawmakers described the 310 biillon Naira budget proposal as concise, adding that it would significantly address infrastructure deficit in the State.

Opening debate on the 2022 Appropriation bill which is on its Second Reading, Majority Leader of the House, Monday Edwin-Obolo noted that the budget estimate was in tune with current economic realities.

Obolo also justified major chunks of the budget allocated to Works and Agriculture Ministries, insisting that this was necessary to improve Infrastructure development and diversify the economy of the State.

In their various contributions, other legislators expressed delight with some of the roads and health projects captured in the budget, saying it would improve the well-being among members in their various constituencies.

At the end of deliberations, Speaker, Abraham Ngobere, directed the bill to be committed to the House Committees on Appropriation and Finance to report back in two weeks.
